Frequently Asked Questions

Care instructions

Handle all items with care as they are handmade.

Artworks: Avoid touching the surface and hang away from direct sunlight. Gently dust with a soft, damp cloth.

Brass Keepsakes: Clean weekly with warm soapy water and a microfibre cloth. Dry immediately. To restore, polish gently with diluted toothpaste in the direction of the grain.

Clay Keepsakes: Do not bend or drop. Store individually wrapped. Wipe gently with a damp cloth—do not soak.

Jewellery: Avoid water, perfumes, and lotions. Do not wear in the shower or sea.

Candles: Trim wick to 5mm before each burn. Burn on a heat-safe surface and never leave unattended.

Conditions of Return

If there is an issue with your order, please contact me within 30 days of delivery so I can assist.

Buyers are responsible for return postage costs, and items should be returned in their original condition. If an item is not returned in its original condition, a partial refund may be issued to reflect any loss in value.

As many pieces are custom or personalised, these items are not eligible for return unless they arrive damaged or defective. Digital items are also non-returnable.

Returns are not accepted for change of mind. If you have any questions before placing your order, I’m always happy to help.

Sizing details

Each clay keepsake is individually handmade, so slight variations in size may occur—typically only a few millimetres. These subtle differences are a natural part of the making process and contribute to the unique character of each piece.

Colours may also appear slightly different in photographs due to variations in lighting and screen settings. Please refer to individual product listings for specific sizing information.

Processing Time

Most of my pieces are lovingly handmade to order.

Non-Peak Periods: Orders are typically processed within 5–7 days.
Peak Periods: During busier times (e.g., holidays), please allow 10–14 days.

To avoid disappointment, I recommend placing your order at least one month in advance for special events — especially for larger orders of 20+ pieces.

I believe in slow, intentional creation using natural materials & thoughtful forms that age gracefully & become part of the homes, memories, & stories they belong to—pieces designed to endure & become part of a family’s legacy.

I value creativity, community, sustainability, & respect—for people, culture, & the planet. These values guide how I create, collaborate, & engage with my community. I also believe in sharing what I’ve learned & supporting others, particularly women who wish to start creative businesses of their own.

What inspired the name 'Little Colonial Co.'?

Little Colonial Co was inspired by a love of British Colonial interiors and a desire to create meaningful keepsakes that hold memory, meaning, and story.

In my brand, “colonial” refers to British Colonial interior design—an aesthetic that blends classic European elegance with relaxed, tropical influences.

Defined by natural materials, soft neutral tones, and understated refinement, this style is reflected in our use of clay and brass, chosen for their warmth and enduring quality.

Inspired by heritage homes and collected interiors, each piece is thoughtfully created to feel personal, timeless, and made to be treasured for years to come.
