Hi, I’m Rebecca — the maker behind The Little Colonial Co.
I’m married to my best friend, James, and together we’re raising our two little boys, Leo and Lucas, who fill our days with equal parts joy and chaos.
My love of British colonial interiors and heritage homes inspires the pieces I create. I’m drawn to natural materials, timeless forms, and meaningful objects — the kinds of details that make a house feel layered with history and story. Many of the textures, materials, and warm tones I’m drawn to are also inspired by tropical homes and travels through Southeast Asia.
The Little Colonial Co. grew from my original business, BALIANDME, as my style and vision evolved. I wanted a name that better reflected the inspiration behind everything I create — heritage interiors, cultural craftsmanship, and timeless heirloom keepsakes. While the name has changed, the heart behind every piece remains the same.
Each artwork, heirloom, and keepsake is thoughtfully designed and made in small batches using natural materials such as clay and brass. Many pieces can be personalised, transforming them from a beautiful object into something deeply personal.
I believe the most special items in our homes are the ones that hold stories — a name, a date, a place, or a moment in time. My hope is that the pieces created here become part of your home and your memories, treasured for years to come.
Sustainability remains important to me. Wherever possible, I use locally sourced materials and package orders using recycled or eco-friendly materials to minimise waste. The packaging may be simple, but it reflects my commitment to thoughtful production and slower, more intentional consumption.
