đź–¤ A TRIBUTE TO BALI'S NORTHERN SHORES
Inspired by the quiet beauty of Lovina Beach on Bali’s northern coast, this handcrafted black clay garland captures the essence of the island’s volcanic landscape and tranquil energy. The beach’s rich black sand, formed by ancient lava flows, is known for its grounding and restorative qualities — a natural harmony echoed in every bead.
The name Lovina blends “Love” and "Ina" (Mother), symbolising “Love of Mother Earth” — a tribute to nature’s nurturing spirit and the calm it brings into our homes.
Each of the 50 matte black clay beads is individually hand-formed in my studio, strung on natural jute, and finished with an oversized handmade tassel. The result is a one-of-a-kind piece that combines earthy texture with understated elegance.
Whether styled on a shelf, coffee table, mantel, or bedside, this garland brings depth, warmth, and thoughtful design to any space.

🌿 ABOUT THE CLAY
Each bead in this garland is made from black air-drying clay. The colour can vary slightly — adding to each piece’s unique charm. These natural variations occur due to differences in mineral content and regional sourcing, giving every garland a character all its own. I choose this clay for its natural composition, strength, and durability — it offers the perfect balance of earthy texture and refined quality, ideal for creating timeless decorative pieces.

Each clay keepsake is individually handmade, so slight variations in size may occur—typically only a few millimetres. These subtle differences are a natural part of the making process and contribute to the unique character of each piece.
Colours may also appear slightly different in photographs due to variations in lighting and screen settings. Please refer to individual product listings for specific sizing information.

My philosophy is to create with purpose & honour craftsmanship. At The Little Colonial Co., I design personalised keepsakes & heritage heirlooms inspired by colonial interiors, culture, & timeless craftsmanship.
I believe in slow, intentional creation using natural materials & thoughtful forms that age gracefully & become part of the homes, memories, & stories they belong to—pieces designed to endure & become part of a family’s legacy.
I value creativity, community, sustainability, & respect—for people, culture, & the planet. These values guide how I create, collaborate, & engage with my community. I also believe in sharing what I’ve learned & supporting others, particularly women who wish to start creative businesses of their own.
Little Colonial Co was inspired by a love of British Colonial interiors and a desire to create meaningful keepsakes that hold memory, meaning, and story.
In my brand, “colonial” refers to British Colonial interior design—an aesthetic that blends classic European elegance with relaxed, tropical influences.
Defined by natural materials, soft neutral tones, and understated refinement, this style is reflected in our use of clay and brass, chosen for their warmth and enduring quality.
Inspired by heritage homes and collected interiors, each piece is thoughtfully created to feel personal, timeless, and made to be treasured for years to come.
